“Arrowrock, Right”, 9×12 PA oil on canvas, by Rog Lyngaas, 19may08, using choate7 palette.
The last few days have been my diptych theme. In my artist statement, is talk about a “Contradiction of Thought”. I kind of like doing diptyches, because it makes it easy to express this. Is this a Yin & Yang thing; or is just being a devil’s advocate — like many people with the letters “aas” in their last name? I don’t know. All I know is I may be doing more diptyches in the future.
The two paintings today are the ones I did at Arrowrock when the “Greetings Guests!” pictures were taken. I am very proud of them, because I finally seem to be inserting red into my plein air work.
