Banner Proposal

“Logo Ogod”, 12×24 oil on canvas, by Rog Lyngaas, 21aug08, using Choate7 palette.
OK, Wisconsin was fun and now I am back in routine. My nephew Eric is now happily married to Sarah who fits into the family just right. It was a week long festival, with a complete family reunion and an open bar. So it has taken awhile to dry out. Wisconsin is muggy this time of year you know.
As our guild gets ready for our first show we decided to create a banner using a landscape logo. Of course I painted the above highly complex multi styled landscape, to be a smart aas. I hope you see evidence of Sumi-E values, coupled with Classic Landscape style, and overpowering gaudy luminous colors reminiscent of William Johnson’s Norwegian Landscapes. The gaudy ugliness is intentional to attract the eyes to our booth. Can you say “Overkill”?
So we decided the 1st banner should be more subtle. So I converted this sucker to reality. It needed “an intervention”, as one of my brothers would call it. I cropped it, squashed it, flattened it, and massaged the colors. Below is the resulting banner [in reduced format].
