I did finally finish the install of the 24 paintings at the Eclectic Art Store, in early Feburary. I just have not talked about it much. Here are the pix.
As you may guess, this is a gallery in the basement of a famous building in downtown Boise. It is the Idaho Building, and it’s on the National Registry. This picture, shows some the lighting improvements we are slowly installing there.
These paintings are placed in “extra” space, as we add more artists, this space will not be available. As we get more elaborate in our custom hanging techniques, I believe we will find this space the most coveted. Buddy Van Buren, is always adding value to our gallery. So if you are an artist, and you want some permanent wall space, then note that this entire room is available right now!
We have just added 3 more artists in the last month. So we have a total of 16 artists, in an eclectic blend — hence the name of the gallery. We will soon be working on the installation of a gift shop using prints of our work, and frame shop. If you are a framer wanting to start a picture framing business cheaply; this gallery is a golden opportunity!
Yes, the painting on the left is that “GAUDI” one that I used as a logo design. Most people cannot believe I hung it again. But in the possibility that a lover of Brazilian colors in a Sumi-E design, I am hoping someone will fall in love with it. The painting on the left is the only painting knife painting I have available. So it too, is a rare gem.
Of course, I cannot get away from showing paintings of trees. The painting on the right is unique, in that it was heavily criticized for “muddy” color mixing; by a Brazilian. That is why it is being shown in the same room and on the same wall as the “GAUDI” one.
By the way, you do know that the word “Gaudi” derives from Gaudi, the infamous architect, who did a lot of stuff in Spain a hundred years ago or so. He is the only artist, I know of, who has ever had a word named after him. So maybe he is a little more famous than people realize.
OK, above is the last of the pix. It is called “Where Elk Were”, and until recently it was the largest painting [22x28] I had executed. It has never been shown before. There is a greater spiritual thought behind this painting, than most of my others. It has to do with Elk and Wolves, in Idaho. Please type in “Where Elk Were” in this blog’s search engine, to find the story I wrote about it.
